last night at the nme awards with rekorderlig
wearing sass & bide from wishwantwear

So last night I was very kindly invited along to the NME Awards as a guest of Rekorderlig and it was amazing! I saw live performances from Biffy Clyro, Foals, The Cribs, Miles Kane and Paul Weller and the finale by Johnny Marr and friends! So much fun. We had our own table and there was of course plenty of gorgeous Rekorderlig to drink as well as their lovely new cocktail which you need to check out! I had a ball and am still stoked to have been feet away from one of my biggest idols - Paul Weller. Amazing. I was also treated to a little sneaky peek of Rekorderlig's Summer campaign promo and it's very cool indeed… keep your eyes peeled for that.

Now because I knew i'd be shuffling along with indie royalty I needed a gown fit for the occasion and luckily for me the fabulous girlies at Wish Want Wear stepped in to help me with my dress woes! I was lent this amazing Sass & Bide dress (which usually comes in at around £650 no less!) and I felt amazing. It really makes such a difference to how your night goes when you feel so pretty in what you wear and I absolutely loved the detailing on this dress. It was plain black on the front but gold to black sequin all over the back - really eye catching and gorgeous.

The whole process of getting the dress from Wish Want Wear was super easy and they got it to me within about 12 hours of me choosing it over night ready for the awards ceremony. I would hugely recommend this service, if you're after a designer dress for a special occasion it's well worth the money. This dress costs just £80 to hire so it's a complete bargain given how much it retails for.

I had a really lovely night at the NME Awards, totally up my street and watching them boys Biffy scoop the Best British Band award made the evening complete! What do you think of Wish Want Wear? Do you like the dress I wore to the NME Awards?

Disclaimer: I was given the Wish Want Wear loan experience of borrowing the Sass & Bide dress for free, and I was invited to the NME Awards as a guest of Rekorderlig. I am not compensated for feature of either product.

bourjois rouge edition lipsticks

Okay so you may have seen a fair few of these posts floating around over the last couple of months and i'll be honest with you i've had these lipsticks for about five ish weeks now! What i've been doing is i've sat the little holder that they came in by my front door and as I leave the house i've been grabbing a new one each day and slowly but surely trying them all and discovering them. I've taken some hi-res shots above so you can see all the different colours on my lips too!

The Bourjois Rouge Edition lipsticks are a new range to hit the shelves for Bourjois and they were a Selfridges exclusive before now just this week or so heading into Boots and Superdrug for easier purchase! There are actually 16 in total and here are my top ten for you guys to see! I recommend reading Katie, Laura, Sabrina and Milly's take on this post too to see what their picks are!

The only ones I haven't really been impressed with are six, nine and to a lesser extent eight, just because they're a bit frosted (six in particular!) and not as pigmented as the others. My all time fave is number ten, I wore it to death over Fashion Week, and I really love number three too. They're moisturising which I really like and they seem to last a fairly long time, about 2 hours before touch ups, especially the pigmented ones - ten and thirteen in particular. The casing is sturdy and doesn't come apart in my bag and the bullet isn't awful to apply straight from the tub, it can take a little practice to get it neat though! Number ten really hasn't left my side since I got it and it's my new favourite orange toned red!

So cause Bourjois are super kind they actually offered me twelve lipsticks to review, but I really didn't need that many (I didn't really *need* ten lets be honest) so I picked two extra of my two favourites to do a little giveaway with and the superstars of the line for me are shades seven and ten! So just to clarify there will be two winners and all you need to do to enter is leave a comment on this post saying whether you want shade seven or shade ten, and leave me your twitter handle so I can tweet you if you win. You need to be UK based and the competition will close 5th March at midnight - please also be a follower of TLL via Google Friend Connect on the right hand side there!

Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipsticks cost just £7.99 and should be rolling out to a store near you now! What do you think of the shade range? Do you like these ten I featured, any faves? Let me know!

Love, Zozo

Estee Lauder Illuminating Powder Gelee Blush in Tease
Part of the Pretty Naughty collection for Spring 2013

Wahhh pretty blush alert! Estee Lauder have got a new collection coming out for Spring and it's called the Pretty Naughty collection, which immediately capped my interest. It's all about naughty sugary sweet pastel hues mixed with a youthful rebellious attitude. Inspired by English country gardens and it's meant to be all about being cutesy sexy and how pastel tones rock any skin tone for a subdued gorgeous look.

This blusher is a limited edition shade and it's one of their Illuminating Powder Gelee blushers, the shade is called Tease. It's somewhat of a dusky lilac pink and it's frosted ever so slightly - it looks really frosted in the pan but actually doesn't come out that shimmery at all. My immediate reaction to this product was that it was just so easy to build up the colour. I find myself swirling my brush into the pan and building up the shade I want depending on how pigmented I want the colour to look. It's so easy to define the cheeks and it glides on smoothly and easily. It's really pigmented, but softly.

I totally dig the idea behind the Lauder Pretty Naughty collection, and since getting this blusher about two weeks ago i've found myself grabbing it more and more as it seems to suit my pale skin and isn't too dark/bright pink. Natural flush ahoy! Now to go and romp in some daisy filled English country gardens and drink tea and play croquet.. right?

Estee Lauder's Illuminating Powder Gelee Blush in Tease retails at £30, is limited edition and can be found here. What do you think of the Pretty Naughty collection? Do you like this shade?

my hair never sleeps.

So as always you know I can never rest easy on leaving my hair as it is. It has been about six months ish since I implemented turquoise dip dye into my life and a very spur of the moment decision last night left me with now... this hair. You know i'm always one for self expression and being carefree with my hair, at the end of the day it's just hair. If I hated it I could fix it easily enough.

Doing this took me about 24 hours overall. I had to bleach my hair once using a 40 vol bleach to properly lift all the black out,, and then I let it rest over night with a hair mask on. (One I made myself from TREsemme Leave in Conditioner and L'oreal Extraordinary Oil) and then today I bleached it again twice using Schwarzkopf XXL Live in 00A Absolute Platinum. Two of those took the hair to a bright blonde/white and from there I covered it in Crazy Color Sky Blue mixed with La Riche Directions in Turquoise to get this bottle blue turquoise tint. I just did it all over for now, the idea was to have a bit of a dip dye but for now I think i'll leave it like this and perhaps rub some dark purple into the tips at a later date - give my hair space to breathe a bit!

It's very colourful and very bright but it's very "me" and I hope you think so too. It's gonna take a little bit of getting used to... but at the moment I love it and i'm happy with how it turned out.

I sometimes have a bit of crisis of confidence over who I am and how I look and the idea yesterday was to actually bleach out the turquoise and dye all my hair brown and be a regular coloured hair girl. But after chats with my girls and realising that no matter how low men or society can make you feel, i remembered why i'm me and why this makes me happy. I hate that for a split second I lost sight of that, and I lost sight of my individuality. Don't ever lose sight of who you are, regardless of what people say to you or make you feel. Cos if you don't love me for who I am then you don't love me at all, and i'd rather figure that out now than later along the line. Happy Sunday mermaids, down here all the fish is happy, as off through the waves they roll. The fish on the land ain't happy, they sad 'cause they in their bowl...

Don't wanna change, and I don't wanna be ashamed, i'm the spirit of my hair, it's all the glory that I bare.

bills, bills, bills..
soho branch, london

Nothing makes me happier than going for a good hearty lunch with my girls. A couple of weeks ago, Lily, Daloni and I were starving hungry and smack bang in the middle of Soho so we decided to stop by a place we'd all heard rave reviews about - Bill's Restaurant. They're not actually exclusively London based, they have a few running all over the UK including Brighton, Bath, Cambridge and Reading. Find out where your nearest one is here.

Bill's is a very British style cafe complete with quaint little crockery and clean bright wooden tables. It's quintessential classic British food mixed up with different cuisines that we've come to call our own, so expect things like chips, fish pie and risotto mixed up with caesar salads and hummous style mezzes. All three of us opted for the Fish Finger Sandwich however, which comes in at around £8.50. It was absolutely delicious and left us all suitably stuffed for a Sunday!

The atmosphere and vibe in Bill's is gorgeous, and I really loved it in there. It's perfect for a little lunchtime stop over, or if you're after something a bit more traditional for dinner. Personally I want to try their breakfast menu, it seems like the perfect place to head for breakfast!

They also do this really nice feature called Bag of Bills where you can take some items home with you like fresh vegetables and jars of preserves. Really cute little touch! Do you think you'd give Bill's a try? Is it already your favourite restaurant? What do you think of the fish finger sandwich revival?

London Fashion Week: Todd Lynn
Hair by Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe | Makeup by Maybelline | Nails by Maybelline
Todd Lynn is always a nice show. It's not my favourite, and it's not the worst. It's always in my eyes just *nice*. Last season it was nude nude nude and the hair was all about simplicity. I wasn't completely surprised to see that this season the makeup was still kept as nude as ever, however the hair had taken on a completely new change of direction. Hair for this show was by Hair Meet Wardrobe rather than Toni & Guy, and it was headed up by Mark Hampton.

The primary inspiration for the hair was a feminine Gangs of New York style, a girl that could rock up in a mans clothes that she'd nicked and still look hot to trot. A girl that lived dangerously, and was beautiful yet aggressive. A perfect representation of your old school hardened City chick. Mark created the hair by using their Volume Plumping Mousse, the Wave Memorizer and finished with a ton of Hairspray. The look was created by taking wet hair and running the mousse and memorizer through it before blowdrying unevenly and curling and pinning. Wait for the look to cool, tousle the hair through your fingers and mess about with it, backcomb parts gently using your thumb and forefinger and swing into a low pony. Finish with hairspray and you're done! I loved this kind of girl gang look.

The makeup compliments this idea, like I said - staying super nude. Whereas last season Todd Lynn was all about nude for pretty spring/summer nude's sake, this time it was about staying true to the girl gang babe. A girl who has no time for makeup, she looks youthful yet edgy. It was all about the Fit Me range of Maybelline and they were using their brand new Color Stay nail varnishes there too.

Todd Lynn is all about tailoring and this A/W he made no exceptions. Masculine met feminine and it was prim, proper, tailored - attitude meets authoritative. Think high collars and dark colours. It went much girlier towards the end though, with swinging skirts and ribbons. However, it looks like the girl gang vibe of powerful business women is here to stay, and the Todd Lynn girl is one you'll see in many cities across the world. What do you think of the hair, makeup and clothes for Todd Lynn?
