suspender tights ootd

Thursday, January 13, 2011
Hello! Again, please excuse the pink hair, i could have been not lazy and taken new photos however I am lazy and thought these were nice enough hehe, so yeah, eep, forgive me! I recently bought the Henry Holland suspender tights (got mine from River Island, £15) and i've been trying to work them into casual attire. I hope i've managed to pull it off just about! Here's what I came up with:

Top: Topshop last season
Bow: Primark £1
Cardigan: Gap £25
Shorts: Kate Moss for Topshop first ever collection haha!
Tights: House of Holland
Shoes: New Look £26.50

This is something I usually wear to a gig or similar, quite casual but also a bit funky with the unusual tights. I wouldn't wear anything mega dressy with them though just because they're so bold you don't really need to! Other things I wear them with include oversized band tees and just other long tops, might do some more ootds with them if anyones interested?
What do you think of the suspender tights look? Do you own these, if so what do you wear them with? What do you think of the outfit i've paired them with?
Lots of love, Zozo xxxxx

  1. Love this tights, and with the tee gives it a real edge.
I would pair mine with something mega girly and floaty to toughen up an outfit, with similar boots.

  3. I like them. Because they are glittery. A good idea for a present for Daughter 2. She would rock these.

  4. Love the tights. I have a similar pair and I tend to wear them with jumper dresses or denim shorts and a loose top to keep it causual. I do get some funny looks sometimes but I love suspender tights so I don't care! x

  6. Love the tights! They look so cool, and are kind of cheeky and subtle at the same time. I still love your pink hair, even though you don't have it any more.

  8. I love this outfit! I own a pair of suspender tights myself, and I am often faced frequently with how to wear them. I find that they go best with high waisted denim or even tailored shorts. Now there are two options you can primarily choose here. The first with the denim shorts are obviously a much more casual look, so team them up with an oversized print tee, vests, or cardigan (the current trend in cardigans 'the boyfriend cardigan' works a treat with the vest. If you have a slim frame, you're better to tuck your vest in your shorts and wear a girly brown/floral print belt. Work this outfit with military boots or canvas shoes. The second option with the tailored high waisted shorts: this is a more smarter look, perfect for meeting with friends or going to a resturant or bar. I personally always go for a blouse with this option. Always tuck the blouse in though as it looks much more neater. A good tip would be to get a shirt/blouse that is slightly baggy on you, and has some form of detail on it Like a kitten bow or a generic patterned blouse. If you're going for the patterned blouse, be sure your shorts are plain with minimal detail! Again, team with a simplistic belt with a big belt buckle, something that is quirky like a swallow bird or bow, or even an anchor. I have a rocking horse one and it looks fantastic with this look. Wear with shiny heels, or plain flats. If you are quite short and curvy like me, youre better to wear heels with the least detail on the front of your foot, as this elongates our legs. For taller people, dolly bar heels are perfect. Forgot to mention, with the casual look, I often wear legwarmers just high enough to top the ttop of my boots. also with the tights, It gives a quirky and girly feel to the whole outfit! Hope this has helped anyone! Peace x
